In the end, we didn’t quite manage to pull off the sensational Coverdale Cup victory we had hoped for – but only because our swimmers performed so well! The time-banded competition means that swimmers are penalised for going too slow – or too fast. Many of our young team performed better than their previous Personal Bests (PBs) had suggested, losing points on the night but showing just how much they have improved in the pool. The Coverdale team is picked … Continue reading
Welcome to parents Susan Pirie, Simon Broadhurst & Ian Courtney, who joined the swimming club committee at last week’s AGM. The main office-bearers were re-elected: Chairman – Jack Calder; vice-chair – David Lee; Secretary – Gaynor Allen; Treasurer – Eleanor Ritchie.
We are having our AGM soon, and would like to invite all swimmers’ parents and carers to attend. We are looking for new members to help to continue to drive the club. We have made the meeting during the session time to make it as easy as possible for parents to come along. If that isn’t enough to entice you, just look at this action-packed agenda. Only joking, just come along and see for yourself. AGENDA 1, Welcome and Apologies … Continue reading

Thanks so much to all the parents and children who came along to the presentation night and made it such a fun evening. Everyone entered into the spirit of the night and it was great to see the kids all getting on so well, and having a good laugh. (thanks especially to the Johnston boys for getting the party started with some very energetic dance moves). It was brilliant to watch all the parents dancing, too, especially the dad dancing … Continue reading
The presentation night is in less than two weeks – on Friday February 24th – so everyone should be getting their tickets now. Even if you think your child hasn’t won a trophy through the club championship, there will be special awards on the night, so let’s see most of our swimmers and their families come along. Thanks to those who have bought tickets already. If you haven’t just ask at the desk – it is only £5 for a … Continue reading
Thanks to all those swimmers who regularly come on Sundays. Numbers are up on a regular basis since we cut the session to one hour, from 8.45am-9.45am. However, there are still a lot of swimmers that we never see on Sunday. We understand that many children have other activities – football, rugby, gymnastics, etc – and that it is sometimes a challenge for parents to get motivated first thing on a Sunday morning! But if you can get your kids … Continue reading
What a night! The Musselburgh team produced a brilliant performance to win the third round of the Coverdale Cup in their home pool. Our young swimmers all did the club proud as they dived, swam and turned superbly to triumph over Haddington, Tranent and Portobello. Musselburgh scored 197 points, almost 20 points ahead of Haddington with Tranent very close behind. The fourth and final gala of the cup between the clubs will be held at Tranent at the end of … Continue reading
We have booked the Club Championship disco at the Inveresk Bowling and Social Club on Carlisle Place, off Hercus Loan, Musselburgh. This should be a great night and trophies from the Club Championship will be handed out. More information to follow.
Friday February 24th – put it in your diary now. It’s the date for the Club Championships’ presentation night. This is NOT just for trophy winners but all club members – and a great opportunity for the kids to get together and have fun. There will be a disco and games as well as the presentation – and it will be held in central Musselburgh so it is easily accessible for everyone and so parents can enjoy themselves too. The … Continue reading
